Labor and Being a New Mom!

September 11th, I was on call for work. My back hurt all day like cramps. I did not think anything about. The lady that I work with told that I was going into labor. That night around midnight I woke up hurting. I did not know if I was in labor or just hurting. I did not want to be one of those people that are in the hospital for 2 or 3 days. So I stayed in the bed for about an hour then got up and took a bath. After that I talked myself into washing my hair. Then I decided to time the contractions they were about 5 to 9 minutes apart. I tried to go back to sleep on the couch. Timmy, is still in the bed sound to sleep. Sleeping on the couch did not work. I got back in bed around four. Timmy, woke up and asked why I was dressed. I told him I had been up since midnight hurting. He said, " you should have woke me up." We loaded the car up and he got ready for work. He took me to my mom and dad's house. The contractions started getting closer after he left for work. I was trying to wait till my appointment at 10:15 which did not happen. I told my mom I think we need to go on to the hospital. We arrived at the hospital about 7 am. The nurse checked me and I was 3 cm. We called Timmy at worked and he headed to the hospital. The nurse checkecd me again about an hour later and I was 4cm. the Dr. got there about 9 something did my epidural and broke my water. Then I was 5-6 cm. I had to stay on my left side do to my blood pressure being so high. I was dilating pretty fast. Carson, made his big arrival at 236. Labor was not as bad as I thought it could have been. I have seen people act crazy at work. I did not want to act like that. At one point they thought they were going to have to do a csection due to the baby's heart rate dropping. They had surgery on stand by. His cord was wrapped around his should like a purse strap. He is the sweetest baby! I have been very busy with him. Breastfeeding is work itself. Talking about work I go back December 10th. Carson, will be staying with my mom and dad on the days I work. I will miss him.

I went back to the doctor today and they sent me back to the hospital for another non stress test due to my blood pressure. The stress test was fine. Baby Carson still looks good and when I rest on my left side my blood pressure goes down. So the Dr. M sent me back home and I go back next Tuesday unless I go into labor before then.

BABY UPDATE

I went to the doctor today for a check up. When I first found out I was pregnant I was on blood pressure medicine. Well, they had to change it to Aldomet and it bottomed my blood pressure out. So they took me off the bp medicine until about 2 months ago I had to start taking it again. And in pregnancy bp usually gets higher at the end. According how my bp is next Tuesday I might be induced. Baby Carson, might be arriving a little sooner. My dr had me go to the hospital today for a Non stress test and everything was fine. Baby looks good!

Work has been CRAZY the last month. Last week on Thursday we had 9 babies. We have had a total of 29 this month and still some due. I am going to work as long as I can. It is hard some days.

I have had my showers and we got lots of stuff. Swing, stroller, carseat, bouncee set, a little stroller, high chair, 3 bath tubs, pack & play, and lots of clothes. I am still trying to put everything up. We can't wait for Carson to make his big arrival. I go back to the doctor Wednesday.

It has been a while. We went on vacation to Lake Chicot for a week. We had a lot of fun! I have been working some extra days at work also. We have been really busy at work lots of babies.

I went to the dr Thursday for a check up and everything is going okay. I am trying to decide when or if I want to have a 3D 4D ultrasound done. I have to do it between 27 & 30 weeks.

I ordered my baby bedding. It is so cute! It has monkey's on it and numbers the colors are yellow, blue, and brown. My baby bed is white. Can't wait tilll it comes in.

We are still trying to decide on a name for baby Chavis. His daddy is a little picky. I think it would be easier to name a girl. Timmy, only liked one or two of my names on my list.

I have been very busy lately. Work has been crazy. Two weekends ago when I went to work on Friday I had 8 babies in the nursery all to myself with NO help! By the end of the day we added 3 more to the 8 babies. 2 c-section and 1 vag delivery and in the middle of al that I had to assist with a circumsion and begin discharging 3 of the babies . I did not leave work until 1130 that night. This was Easter weekend.

The next weekend Timmy's brother got married. I had to do the girls hari for the wedding. They looked very pretty. Then after the wedding we had the kids. I took them out to eat pizza.

Tuesday, I had to pick Courtney up from school and take her to dance for my sister and pick her up from dance and take her home. Then I had to go to a baby shower.

Thursday, I went to the doctor. Everything is going great. The bump's heart rate was 155. We go May 25 to find out if the bump is a girl or boy! We can't wait.

I worked this weekend it was kind of slow we had two babies. A girl and boy. The little girl was so alert! I have never seen a baby as alert as she was. She even rolled over. The day she was born after her bath I placed her back in the warmer and she truned a half circle in the warmer.

Rock A Bye Baby

I went to the doctor today everything was okay. The baby's heart rate was in the 150's and Dr.M said, "everything looks great." I thought that we would be able to find out if the bump is a boy or girl next time, but Dr. M said "it would be the next appointment in May." He likes to wait until you are around 24 weeks.

After, we left the dr's office we went to Monroe to ROCK A BYE BABY a furniture store strictly for babies. They had baby bed, bedding, rocking chairs, diaper bags, carseats, strollers, and the pack and play thing. They were having a moving sale. It is located in West Monroe. The pack and play thing was really neat because in had a bassinet that came with it and you could take it off and put it in the pack and play beside the changing table. It is called a playground by Combi. The baby bedding was very cute! If anyone is interested they will still be in West Monroe on 7th street when they move.

Then we went to eat at CHili's! And on to the mall. I love to wear heels except for today in the mall they were killing my feet I had to buy another pair of shoes to put on. They are little girls and pink with beads on them really cute.

Babies, Babies, & Babies!!!

This weekend at work we I had 3 babies all boys. Very busy! When I went back today I had two babies a girl and boy. By 0727 the first c-section was born a baby girl. Vitals signs and shots and all that good stuff and caring for the other 2 babies because they were in the nursery. By 0856 the second c-section baby born. 0950 one baby goes to mom's room per her request. 1130 decide to call other mom to see if she would like to see her baby seeing that she did not all night. She said, "yes" So get get him ready and take him out. In this time the other mom calls for her baby to come back to the nursery.
All day I was back and further from the nursery to the mom's room. I gave up on taking a break and sitting down because everytime I tried another mom would call.
I love my job it was just a very busy day!!!
I am off this weekend and soo excited. I think I am going to go shopping.

Baby Update

I went to the doctor Wednesday for a check up. They couldn't find the heartbeat so they had to do another ultra sound. Dr. M, said the reason for not finding the heartbeat was due to my uterus being tilted back. The arms and legs were flying around everywhere. You can see the little nose. It was so amazing! The first ultrasound was just a little circle. And the next was a bigger circle and all you could tell was it was beating. And this was so sweet. Can't wait to find if the bump is a girl or boy. Timmy's cousin Kayla name the baby the bump. She is so funny. I will try to post the picture of the ultrasound later I scanner is not cooperating.

I have only been sick twice. And guess what I had ate both times. Granola bars!!! I don't eat them anymore. I have about passed out twice due to my blood pressure bottoming out. Which is better than it being high. Because I was on blood pressure med and not having to take any right now. We just hope that my blood pressure stays down because there are some many risk with high bp and pregancy. It juse is not a good combination!

I have been really busy with work and lots of other things I feel like I am in the road all the time.
Last weekend I was off, but it did not feel like it. Friday, night we went to a friends house. We cooked, the guys grilled, and ate too much. Saturday, I got up and was ready and on the road to Little Rock by 8 am I took Timmy's cousin prom dress shopping. We had a lot of fun! 3 different stores and finally found the perfect dress. I think it is one of the prettiest dresses I have saw. I will post pics later. Sunday, I went to church sang a special and then after church went to Crossett with my mom. Monday, back to work.

Everyone please keep the Crain and Stanley family in your prayers. They are very special to me and my family.

EXCITING NEWS

When I came home from Georgia visiting family in January we found out that we were going to have a precious baby. We are so excited! We kept it a secret for 8 weeks. We mailed everyone a card that said:

Hi! My name is Baby Chavis and I can't wait to meet yall. My mommy and daddy and big brother Coal (the dog) are very excited. They don't know much about me yet, but that I am very special. I will be making my big arrival around the middle of September maybe even on my daddy's birthday. Can't wait to see yall.

And you flipped that up and there was a picture of the ultra sound.
We really suprised everyone!

Devin and Daley asked why the baby could not be her in March or April. They don't understand. And Courtney told us she was going tote the baby around.

5 weird things

This was really hard.

1.) I have to have ketchup with my black eye peas or I want eat them.

2.)I hot roll my hair every morning before work. It is quicker than trying to straighten. I wash it, dry it, put rollers in, then makeup, and then take hair out of rollers.

3.)If I get cold while I am at home I take a HOT bath. I might take 2 to 3 baths a day. And at night I can not sleep if the water is dipping.

4.)I have to have everything in a certain place or it will drive me crazy until I fix it. Expsecially at work.

5.)When I wear sandals or any kind of shoes that show my toes they have to be painted with no chips in the paint or no paint at all. I hate polish with chips in it.

WE HAD A BLAST!!!

I had so much fun this past weekend with my sister in law and two nieces! I got on the plane Thursday, in Monroe and flew to Altanta then to Jacksonville where Dana picked me up. Then we went back to Kingsland, Georgia were they live it is only about 30 mintues from their house. We went to see Dale before he had to go to work and they we went to pick the girls up from school. Devin had cheerleading practice for the competition, so Dana, Daley, and myself went to eat. We had the BEST CRAB LEGS ALL YOU CAN EAT!!! I was so full. That night we watched TV and played with the girls. Friday morning we go t up and went to Dinseyworld. We had a lot of fun. We stayed there all day. They had fireworks at night and a Spectular Magic Parade at night. The magic parade they turned out all of the light in the Magic Kingdom and all of the floats in the parade will decorated by lights. It was really cool I will post pictures of it later.When we left there we went to Planet Hollywood to eat.
Saurtday, was the competition and they won. It was really good. They had some very talented young ladies competing. One of the groups was from a Christain school and they were awesome there was about 30 of them they could all flip. They won over all and deserved it.
Sunday, we were lazy all day!
Monday, kids back to school and Haley off to the airport.
I had to go back to work Wednesday. We had a very busy day starting at 0733 calling medflight to come down and pick up a baby we delivered. Around lunch we delieverd another baby. We only have 4 Ob rooms and they were full all day plus we had two OBs on the floor because we had no more beds.I clocked out after 0800.
Today, was a lot better they had 2 deliveries right before I got to work. I had a total of 3 babies tody alll boys. I love my job caring for babies and spending time with the new mommies.

Hope, everyone had a save and HAPPY NEW YEAR! We did we stayed at home just the 3 of us Timmy, me, and Coal. Timmy wasn't feeling very good he had a cold. He did some stuff on the computer and I watched Lifetime.

Sunday, was my Mammaw's birthday. We had birthday dinner for her.

I had to work today we still have not had a New Year Baby at the hospital. The 1st New Year Baby in Arkansas was born on the 1st at like 4:19. We had one OB this morning and discharged her with no baby. We got our second OB around 4:30 and when I clocked with still had no baby. We will in the morning by a scheduled c-section.

Thursday, I will be flying to Jacksonville, Florida to see my sister-in-law and her family. We will be going to a cheerleading/gymanast competition on Saturday in Orlando. I am excited! I will posted pictures when I get home.

LIBBY LOU'S

My sister-in-law, her friend, and I took six girls to Libby Lou's Wednesday. If you have a little girl you have to go it is soo much fun! I wish they would have had Libby Lou's when I was little. The girls all thought they were grown. They pick a pack and we did the $30 pack you get your hair, makeup, nails done, a goody bag to pu 5 different things in, and get to make 3 three different things (like lotion, Shampoo, body glitter, lip gloss, etc.) and they pick which one. They get to pick the scent and colors.

First, they got dressed up and was sprinkled with fairy dust (glitter) and was told to close their eyes and make a wish. Then they got their bags and got to pick 5 things to put in it. Then it was hair, makeup, and nail time. After, all of that they got to make their stuff. When everyone was finished they got to do the limbo.

Then we went to see Santa and they got a group picture made with Santa. It is really cute. And all of the girls had pink hair with glitter in it!
